Back to School

After two weeks of Christmas break it was time to go back to school today. All my students were there and as always after Christmas they were excited.
I took attendance and gathered them up around me. I said I knew there were lots of great things to tell ...... two of them said "so we have to write about it!" Bless their little hearts. We didn't write, I broke them up into groups for sharing until time for intervention. From then on it was business as usual. They liked the new story for the week. They especially enjoyed the light experiments with flashlights and mirrors.
It was nice to see all their little smiling faces and get back into a routine. One even drew a picture for me and brought it from home to say she was glad to come back to school. She missed me. Isn't that sweet?

Today was my first day back, and I have to admit I was glad to see the little buggers.

to be loved by the young ones is great...bcoz their affection is genuine and not put on as some sdults do

I always enjoy the break but it's always nice to get back to the students. It will be very strange when I retire next year - especially in August when school starts!!

being with the young makes one feel young. they make us look at things from a fresh angle

This brought back some warm memories of my teaching days. I still have little letters, notes, pictures that children gave me. Not often, but every once in a while, I run across one and wonder..."wonder what happened to Carl?"...or Brittney?....or whoever? They're all grown now.

Nice post!!

I guess they are lucky little ones to have a teacher like you (one can clearly see you love what you do by the way you wrote) and that you are also a little bit lucky because there is nothing like the joy of children to remember us how world can be a great place.
