This mockingbird is not happy with Bob, my cat. Just after I snapped this he pecked Bob on the head and flew up for a repeat attack. I liked that I was able to catch the bird in midstrike and got his shadow on the driveway.

What a great shot! I love the shadow...what did the cat do???run away? I can't imagine a bird being so cheeky!!
That's an amazing shot. The hummingbird is so fearless.
Well done, Sharon. Give "watch the birdie" a whole new meaning.
When I was a kid, our cat was deaf. The mocking birds would dive bomb him, and he would have no warning because he couldn't hear them coming. It was pretty sad...but a little funny.
n shot I love when i catch nature at work
What a great shot you got there,
Very interesting!
The lesson is - stay away from birds! :-)
Great photo, poor cat!
Have a great week,Sharon :)
A lovely shot that is. And that guy is he brave or what?
What an amazing shot you got!!! I think your second job could be photographer.
Very interesting shot... Have a nice day...
Neva - Bob just stayed right where he was. The mockingbird dive bombed him several times before it gave up and stayed in the tree. It sure fussed at him though. Mockingbirds are famous for this!
Beautiful shot of the mocking bird!!!
Great shot. It almost makes you root for the cat!
just right in time to catch a beautiful shot!
Yes what an interesting shot.

Great pic of real live action! Does the mockingbird has a nest there? Or does it just not like cats? Poor Bob to be mocked by a mockingbird.;-)
Great work, Sharon, especially with the shadow. Here in Oz the magpies play that role ...
Gotta love Sandy's comment !
Fantastic capture.. I bet you smiled from ear to ear... I know I would if I'd taken this shot..
