Weekend Snapshot

I didn't get out any this weekend so have pulled out this photo from our trip to New Mexico in '05. This is a tree growing out of a rement of lava. I can't remember the name for this particular
formation.

We walked to the top of an of a volcano. This view was taken from the rim of the volcano.

I've always wonder what it feels like near or up a volcano. From ur pictures, it looks good :P

Hi Sharon,

I remember learning that lava was very fertile - but that's great proof.

I really like that 1st picture - I love how persistent nature is, and how trees manage to grow in the most unlikely places.

Here's mine.

You walked all the way to the top of the volcano!? The lava is so fertile that a tree grows on it.

Hi, Sharon, thanks for visiting my blog.

I love the photos you're posting. I especially like the previous ones of the sky. I'm doing a photography course at the moment and it makes me realise that shots like yours don't just happen!

By the way, the remarks you posted a few days ago about the music teacher at your school made me smile. How dare a music teacher waste the children's time with listening to music! And classical, at that! Sometimes I wonder why we teachers keep on going, with the amount of negative feedback we get!

I must say, I've found young children love expressing their responses to music, be it through movement, art or any other forms.

Two nice photos from a most certainly great trip.
I'm not quite sure, but I think lava is good to fertilize soil.
Loved the second view.
