Protecting plants from a spring frost.
This may look odd, but protecting the tomato and other garden plants from a spring frost, as my neighbor did, is only pratical. She plants a small garden each spring and summer in her backyard.

The lengths we will go to get our good tomatoes. I think even that would not work here. Our last frost is usually in mid-May, but even with that is is usually fairly warm by this time. Some areas of the valley had lows near 20º last night.
My Odd Shot will appear at midnight my time, but I always like to visit the earlybirds.
I love tomatoes right off the vine, but that does look like a lot of work!
Didn't know that's how it's done to protect them. Interesting.
Tomato protecting?
I thought it was a scouts camp
Very colorful! Oh for the days when I could plant my own garden. I love zucchini and tomatoes best. . . somehow they don't taste as good from the store since they are picked early to get to market. Great odd shot -- mine is up also.
I haven't been on computer much for three days so am trying to catch up -- looks like about 5 posts behind on your blog. Ü
Going to visit each one now.
That's an original way to protect tomatoes!
My wife in her little garden and backyard plantation at her mothers house uses net.
Made a nice colorful photo!
At first I thought of coloured tents.. dood but practical
A great odd shot! LOL
Great idea, and a wonderful Odd Shot!
Hehe I had a sheet on my front porch one night last week when it got down to freezing covering my flower pot full of annuals. And it's on the south side. I LOVE tomatoes and we try to have a couple of plants usually without much luck.
A veritable tent city to protect tomats is odd enough, but perfectly justifiable. Great Odd Shot!
This made me smile and remember the games I played with a blanket and a clothes airer as a child,
Dxx
Ok, I thought it was a downed clothesline, LOL!
Darla
Glad they took measures to save them! At first glance I thought it was a clothesline downed also.
Yes, that does look odd. It really looks like the boy scouts got together and camped in her yard, or the laundry line fell down. heh heh
Ha! This is what we do in Florida when a freeze threatens in the winter.
