Camera Critters and Scrumptious Sunday

I took this picture late in the fall, a few weeks ago. These little birds were in the pecan tree in the front yard. Wish I knew what kind they were!

Berry Lemonade

4 cups of very cold water

1 (11.5-ounce) can Berry Flavor Juicy Juice Non-Frozen Concentrate

1 cup lemon juice (fresh is best)

1/4 to 1/2 cup granulated sugar (to taste)

Combine water, Juicy Juice, lemon juice and sugar in large pitcher; stir well.

Serve over ice. Makes 4 servings.

I don't know much about birds but my first thought was Snow Birds LOL I am sure I am wrong.

Berry Lemonade sounds easy to make and delicious! I will have to make some soon.

Since we're about to start summer here I'll have to try this very soon - sounds yummy.

I love the bird picture - reminds me of Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds" - even the colors are perfect - ominous.

Awesome shot! It looks like the sky is glowing behind the birds.

And, the lemonade sounds REALLY yummy!

It was nice of them to sit all spread out like that to make a better photo. :)

I'm thinking Cedar Waxwings or Titmouses or do you say Titmice?

We have a huge Mulberry in our backyard along w/ pecan trees and the Cedar Waxwings in mass pick the fruit off the Mulberry and make this odd high pitch squeak then take off again in mass for the pecans. I think they sleep in the pecans at night.

Perhaps they stopped by for the berry lemonade.

I like the silver lining in the clouds behind the birds, it has given a very good effect to the picture.

Interesting how light seems to outline the main branches of the trees and the birds. Happy SUnday!

Very interesting picture and nice contrast for this silhouette shot. Pecans in the front yard -- how very lucky!

I agree about the lemon juice -- fresh is always best. I can't stand those little plastic lemons which claim to have real juice in them.

Have a good Sunday.

Love the photo. I'll have to try the Berry Lemonade recipe when the weather warms up. It's 32-degrees right now and I'm in So. California!

What a lovely photo with so many birds all in one place. I could use some ‘gopher’ advice if you (or others) have any … but the main event in my Camera Critters this week (at Small Reflections) is Molly meeting a ‘look-alike’ last weekend … named Molly!

The recipe sounds lucious and we have tons of lemons on our lemon tree. I just put the berry juice on the grocery list.

Sort of a moody looking picture, love all the birds in the pecan tree though. We have a huge pecan tree in our backyard.

I'm in Texas too, although more North Texas (north of Dallas). Nice to meet you!

Love the silhouettes of the birds!
Reminds me of Alfred Hitchcock's Birds movie :)

Thanks for visiting my bird post today - mine was a Killdeer. They nest out in the open.

Well, based on the number of birds in the group, and their silhouettes, I would say they are definitely Cedar Waxwings. As for my Dobies, they weren't mine, except for the short stays when I visited them. After those two passed away, they tried to breed another pair, but it was a bit emotional for them and they switched to breeding Rhodesian Ridgebacks. Those dogs took to me also, but not like the dobermans did.

Nice shot of the birds.

Sharon: I agree with Carletta, It reminds me of the birds. I'm guessing Cedar Waxwing on the type also.

I love the photo: the fractal tree, the bird silhouettes. Some look as if they are crested but I couldn't recognize a one of them. Doesn't matter one bit tho!!
