Odd Shots Monday

I thought this old tree trunk with all the new growth coming from it looked a little odd. Viewing at it now, I see that I should have taken a shot more to the side. As you can see in the background, everything is greening up nicely!

So this old tree trunk is still alive! The nature is really amazing! An odd but also beautiful shot!

Yep, an odd shot for sure, Sharon. You picked a good one! Here in the Pacific Northwest timber country with it's rainforests and mild climate, "nurse stumps" as they are called, abound and provide rebirth on the forest floors for trees and ecosystems. Thing is, even with so many, they still look very odd indeed.

You should see what grows from the "nurse logs" in the old growth forest. I mus tget a picture of one. I am sure I have one someplace, but despite what some people think, I can't always find the picture I want to use.

The power of life! I love this. I found something similar in my woods yesterday. Not as poetic and beautiful. I should've taken a shot. Back up tomorrow!!
