All the children know I don't allow name calling in any form. So with a very sad face one of my kiddos came to say he had been called a name. Well, I asked, what did she call you? With a tremor in his voice, lip trembling, tears threatening, and a thick, slow east Texas accent, he said (I'm going to try to spell this with an accent,)
"Wahdamelon hey-ed."
Yes, he had been called Watermelon Head. I never heard this before and will never hear it again, I suspect.

I don't think I would mind being called anything with such a lilting accent.
Very cute. Thanks goodness it wasn't something really bad.
I remember a kid who used to be called "Pumpkin Head." Unfortunately, in his case it hit a little too close to home not to be name calling.
Hahaha How cute! You did the accent perfectly. I've heard children talk with that same accent. Precious!
How do you keep from laughing in their face? :)
I had to chuckle too. I love that one! Out of the mouth of babes.
Poor watermelon head! And you, keeping a straight face.
Thanks for sharing this little bit of heaven.
Bwahahahahaha! Great!
That is precious!
