Birthday Card
Here is a picture of the card I made for my great-niece's birthday. Of course at one year old she won't appreciate cards much, but it was fun making it. You can't see it in this picture very well but the words "Happy birthday" are heat embossed, in pink, at an angle between the two groups of graphics.
Great-Niece

Yesterday David, my friend Debbie, and I went to my great-niece's first birthday party! She was so sweet and cute. Her mom (my niece) and dad held the party in the family center of the church they attend.
It rained ALL DAY yesterday, so I was afraid not many people would come. However there were quite a few including little cousins from her dad's side of the family. They had a great time. I love to listen to little ones when they are having fun. The joyful, bubbly laughter and brillient smiles on little faces never fails to lift my spirits.
Watching my great-niece open her presents was a treat. She was more impressed with the wrappings than with the presents. Of course. She loved the sparkly bags. Mostly she wanted to play with her walker, the one that she has had for a while. I guess that was because the other kiddos were playing with it.
She didn't quite know what to do with the cake. She got two small fists full and looked at the mess on her hands. She ate some of it, then her mom fed her a little more. After she was cleaned up she decided it was time for a nap.
